UNFPA & Population First hosted International Youth Day with Change Champions for exemplary contribution during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The virtual event on the eve of International Youth Day, ‘Candid Conversations with Change Champions’ was held on Zoom and live streamed on 11th Aug 2020 5 PM onwards on the UNFPA YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/c/unfpaindiaofficial) and on Facebook (www.facebook.com/unfpaindia).
The four change champions who shared their inspiring journeys were Srishti Bakshi, founder, Crossbow Miles Movement, Deepak Ramola, founder & artistic director, Project Fuel, Members of the hip hop group-Dharavi United, and Archana Soreng, member, Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change, United Nations. Influential personalities in various fields such as Ms Shibani Gharat, Mr Yogesh Pawar, Ms. Sunita Buyan and Ms, Jayashree Nandi engaged in conversation with the change makers. The singing session Dharavi rappers was joined by N Ghanapriya, a self-taught visual artist who did a live painting as the artistes were performing. Emails with invitation were sent to around 2000 persons including our previous Laadli Media Award winners, participants of various events, senior media persons, jury, advertising agencies, etc. The YouTube video had a viewership of more than 3000 viewers. Nearly 20 posts were shared about the event on the facebook wall of Population First, and the Population First page. More than 30 tweets were shared about the Youth day event.
